Recreation Program Registration for Winter 2012

The Western Springs Recreation Department’s 2012 Winter Brochure will be mailed to all homes in WS.  The Winter Brochure provides information on all the classes, programs, activities and services available through the Recreation Department.  Information on policies and procedures are provided as well.   Let your postal service letter carrier know if you do not receive one.

Deadline for the Western Springs Recreation Department’s 2012 Winter random registration for residents is 4:30 pm on December 1.  The office will be closed Friday, December 2 for random enrollment.  Walk-In Registration for residents begins at 8:30 am on Monday, December 5.  Non-resident begins December 12.  To view the 2012 Winter Brochure with complete information on all policies, procedures, programs, activities and services to  www.wsprings.com/departments/recreation.asp. 

Most classes begin the week of January 9.  There are many programs and services for all ages.   Some popular Early Childhood classes include Moms & Tots, Wee Gourmets and By-Gym-Mini.  Youth programming offers Basketball Instruction for 3rd & 4th Grade and Lacrosse, as well as many non-sport classes including Young Rembrandts art classes, foreign languages and several painting or crafts classes.  Programs for Teens range from Dodge Ball to Dance.  Adults are offered a full range of programs including open basketball and fitness and exercise classes.  There are also classes on Creative Cooking, painting classes, ceramics, and photography.  Families should check out the childcare services, dance classes for all ages, and music lessons offered in either the WS Recreation Center or Grand Avenue Community Center.  Also, several Special Events are slated.  Seniors can take advantage of the Senior Center or the WS Seniors Club.
