Football: Lyons Township's Big Win Spoils Hinsdale Central Homecoming

Lyons Township got three touchdowns from running back Leonard Ross en route to a 35-14 win in Hinsdale.

Lyons Township running back Leonard Ross ran for 115 yards and three touchdowns as the Lions beat Hinsdale Central, 35-14, on Homecoming Saturday for the Red Devils, HighSchoolCube News reports.

Hinsdale Central opened the scoring with a 60-yard touchdown drive on the Red Devils' first drive, before the Lions ripped off 35 straight points, HighSchoolCube reports.

The win put Lyons Township at 2-1 in the West Suburban Silver and 3-3 overall. Hinsdale Central is also 3-3 overall with a 2-2 conference mark. 

Thomas Ives was the latest Red Devil to take a crack at quarterback in the absence of injured starter Chase Hamilton, according to HighSchoolCube. He completed six passes and ran for 60 yards.

Three games remain for the Lions to continue to improve their playoff chances. Next up for Lyons Township is a home game Friday night against Oak Park River Forest.
