LT Hires Paul Krick as New Girls Basketball Coach

Lyons Township High School recently appointed Paul Krick as the new Lions varsity girls basketball coach, replacing Katie Meyers, who resigned.

Krick has been a driver education teacher at LT since 1994 and currently coaches boys cross country and boys tennis. In the past, he also coached boys basketball, football and intramurals.

He has more than 22 years of basketball coaching experience at a number of schools in Illinois, and he prides himself on 20 winning seasons, including three trips to the state finals as an assistant coach. In addition, he has worked with several Hall of Fame coaches throughout his career.

Krick looks forward to building a championship caliber girls program at LT.

“I am dedicated to focusing on team values, good character and hard work," he said in a news release. "I can’t wait to work with the girls’ basketball community at LT and to get started.”

LT athletic director John Grundke said Krick's experience will serve LT well. He received his bachelor’s degree from Loras College and his master’s from National-Louis University.

"He has an incredible passion for the sport of basketball and the student-athletes who he will coach," Grundke said. "His knowledge of the game and his attention to detail will provide wonderful leadership for the young ladies in our basketball program for years to come."
