Lyons Township won at the freshman, sophomore and junior varsity level and took second in varsity at the LT Invite on Sept. 3.

Katie Harmor ran two miles in 12:36 to take first in the freshman race. Lexy Rudofski ran the same distance in 12:32 to win at the sophomore level. And, running 2.96 miles in 19:28, Mary Clare Flaherty won the JV race.

Alex Daemicke ran 18:38 to take third at the varsity level, which would be won by Marist High School.

“I was very happy with the way our team ran,” said head coach Stetson Steele. “I thought we competed very well on all levels.”

Girls Swim & Dive

Despite time drops for a number of LT swimmers, the Lions lost on all levels in their Sept. 3 meet at New Trier—last year’s state champions.

“New Trier is a great team,” head coach Kurt Johns said. “But we swam well for the most part.”

Jennifer Weigland won the 500 freestyle in the meet.

Boys Soccer

LT fought to a 2-2 tie in their Sept. 2 contest against St. Viator. The team’s record now stands at 1-1-2.

LT’s Spencer Hagan picked up a goal and an assist in the game, with Brett Heimerdinger accounting for the other score.
