Past Champs, Villagers, Supported 11s Little League Title Run

The manager and two members of the 2006 11's and 2007 12's championship teams were among the many Western Springs residents who came out to support this year's victors.

Among the many Western Springs fans who came out to support the 11-year-old Little League District team in their incredible undefeated state championship run were the manager and two members of the last Western Springs championship teams—the 2006 11's and 2007 12's—the Doings Western Springs reports.

One of those members, Keith Lehmann, has continued in baseball, a member of the Lyons Township team that placed this year and won the . The other, Jake Elliot, has gone on to success in and at LT.

District team manager Bob Waunn told the newspaper that Lehmann and his father, Art, had been helping out at practices, and that the support of the veterans and the Village was appreciated.

The Western Springs 11s District team motored through qualifiying before exploding in the fifth inning of a versus Jackie Robinson West to win 18-8.
