Photo Gallery: Heat Drives Rec Dept. Soccer Indoors
Turnout was a bit low but fun levels were high at the Rec Center on Tuesday as soccer instruction went out of the stifling heat and into the gym.
A class of just six devoteed footballers (that's in the European sense, of course, in honor of Euro 2012 just wrapping up) brought their kicking talents out of the hot sun and into the gymnasium for an hour of soccer instruction and games on Tusday afternoon.
Along with their two instructors (Grace Rafferty and Colleen Schweinberg,) the class did drills, chasing down scattered balls and passing in a circle, before gathering for a friendly game of four-on-four. A few younger kids from the other gym-half looked on in awe through the curtains at their peers' athleticism.
