LT’s Operation Snowball program recognized

Lyons Township High School’s Operation Snowball program recently received the Outstanding School Support of the Year award from the Operation Snowball Board of Directors.

 

Operation Snowball is a youth and adult partnership, providing awareness and prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, while encouraging healthy decision-making in an active community of caring.

LT organizes retreats in the fall and spring so that hundreds of students have an opportunity to learn about and discuss teen issues; Operation Snowball is in its 25th year at LT.

Operation Snowball Board of Directors Chairman Patrick Ferrell said LT’s obvious caring and commitment to Snowball, the selfless time and effort offered, and the outstanding services to prevention programming made LT an obvious award winner. LT Snowball co-directors Angie Patel, David Stormont, and Jeanne Widing agree that the Board and administration have not only provided financial support of the program, they have also been steadfast supporters of the program as a key component of educating and supporting our students in making healthy lifestyle choices.
