Locally owned since 1953, Kirschbaum's is a full service bakery with baked goods such as cakes, pastries, donuts, cookies, rolls and pies. The most popular items for adults are the chocolate frosted donuts and the chocolate eclairs. Kids love the smily face cookies.
Kirschbaum's has been awarded Best Bakery in 2009 from the West Suburban Living Magazine. But you don't have to tell the locals that, they are already aware. The bakery closes for vacation in July and there is quite a bustle at the end of June when everyone stocks up.
