Recently renovated in 2007 by the Ridgewood community and the Park District, the 4.0 acres of gorgeous Ridgewood Park are open for games, sports and just plain fun. Check out the 3/4 length basketball court (5-on-5-compatible,) the spindly steel play-bars, and a small athletic field and baseball diamond (also perfect for snow-play in the winter). There's a shelter with picnic tables, an outhouse, a pedestrian path around the perimeter and two benches for relaxing or watching sports on the field. Access is only possible via Grand Avenue or a path from Park Place, which keeps the park quiet and community-focused, but does make parking a bit tricky. A great biking destination.
