Arrangements are scheduled for Friday and Saturday for Penicook, who died Wednesday after a long illness.
John Penicook, 55, of La Grange, died Wednesday afternoon with his family by his side after battling a brain tumor. Penicook lived in La Grange for 24 years and served the community as a little league coach and AYSO referee. He was also a basketball and football coach at St. Francis Xavier School. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Penicook, president of the Park District of La Grange, and four children. Visitation will be held from 3-9 p.m. Friday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St. in Countryside. A funeral is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Frank J. Jaros, 1923 - 2013.
Frank Jaros, 89, of Beach Park passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Kindred Kenosha South. Frank was born on April 25, 1923 in Cicero, IL, the son of the late Frank & Anna (Kouba) Jaros. He was educated in the schools of Chicago. He was a member of the U.S. Marines, serving during WWII. He married June Stastny on June 21, 1947 in Chicago. He was a carpenter, a builder, and later employed as Carpenter Superintendant for the Chicago Public Schools for many years. He was a member of the Suburban Garden Club of Western Springs, IL. His hobbies included gardening, golfing, poker, fishing, cheering for the Cubs, and most of all spending time with his family & friends.
