Follow the Midwest Snowstorm with Weather Map Radar

A storm is headed towards La Grange and Western Springs, the second in a week. As before, check out its progress towards us with our interactive weather map.

Another storm is heading our way, promising to dump at least another three inches of snow on the La Grange and Western Springs area, along with a whole crazy load of wind. As we did last week, we have a radar map from The Weather Channel embedded above so you can follow the storm's progress as it hits us on Tuesday. Keep checking back to find out how close it is and how heavy it's going to be! Get news alerts and Facebook updates from these Patch sites:

Patch Classic: Remembering Snowmaggedon 2011

On the one-year anniversary of the crushing snowstorm that dumped two feet of snow on Western Springs, knocked out power and cleared out schools, we revisit a photo gallery from the day after.

Exactly one year ago today, Feb. 2, Western Springs (and all of Chicagoland) saw one of the worst (or best, depending on your scale) blizzards in history. Two feet of snow and 50 mph winds gave kids not one but two snow days, and we were out there to capture in. The above photos and following article first ran (as "Photo Gallery: Snow Fun (or No Fun?) on Feb. 3, 2011: Wednesday was a great day to be a Western Springs kid. School was out, and the village was packed with natural, sculpt-able jungle gyms of piled snow. Unfortunately, it was up to the adults to keep those piles of snow off of driveways and out of the streets! Still, it looks to us like everyone managed to enjoy themselves at least a little bit, even while clearing out the snow…
