New Pedestrian Crosswalk Signal Damaged in Accident
An accident at Ogden Avenue and Woodland Avenue on Aug. 11 damaged the village's new crosswalk signal.
Western Springs police reported that an accident on Aug. 11 has damaged the village's new crossing signal between Bemis Woods and Western Springs. The accident occurred when a vehicle struck a stopped car near Woodland and Ogden Avenues at about 2:56 p.m. After striking the stopped vehicle, the at fault vehicle continued off the roadway and struck the signal, located on the south side of the parkway on Ogden Avenue, and damaged it. Western Springs police noted the accident had nothing to do with the village's new enhanced crosswalk and safety signal. Hey Dell, From what I understand, the car was stopped so it could turn into the parking area at that location. The village also said it is addressing safety concerns with a Youtube video. Whether that will help could be the subject of some debate. more ›
