The 16-year-old from Florida went missing earlier this week from the Institute in Basic Life Principles in Hinsdale.
Updated Monday at 4:44 p.m. The Hinsdale Police Department sent out the following release Monday afternoon regarding the location of Faith Shirley over the weekend: On Saturday at approximately 8 a.m., juvenile Faith Shirley, who was previously reported as missing from Hinsdale, was located in the City of Chicago. The juvenile appeared unharmed, and at this point in the investigation it appears she left the Institute for Basic Life Principles voluntarily. She was reunited with family on Saturday morning. Additional information regarding her activity will not be disclosed as the investigation into her whereabouts during this timeframe is still on-going. Updated at 3:58 p.m. Thursday The Hinsdale Police Department released an update on the search for missing teen Faith Shirley. Investigators are continuing to follow-up on the missing person investigation reported earlier this week. It has been learned that Faith Shirley may have in her possession a brown Louis Vuitton clothing bag containing several pairs of shoes, and she may be wearing a red scarf. Investigators have actively been following up on opportunities for determining her whereabouts, but as of this time continue to be unsuccessful in locating Faith. Updated April 9 at 11:56 a.m. A teen girl who was staying in Hinsdale has been missing since early Monday morning, according to a Hinsdale Police Department release Monday evening. Faith C. Shirley, 16, was last seen at 12:15 a.m. Monday at the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), 707 W. Ogden Ave., Hinsdale, where she had been staying for at least the last week, Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said. Police are seeking assistance from the community in locating Shirley, who was visiting the area from Florida, according to IBLP president Bill Gothard, and may have been unfamiliar with her surroundings. Hinsdale Police Chief Brad Bloom said it appears the man intended to be struck; the train was carrying passengers and was passing through the West Hinsdale train station when it hit the man.
Updated at 8:31 p.m. The 42-year-old man who died after he was struck by a Metra train passing through the West Hinsdale train station Monday afternoon was from Clarendon Hills, according to Hinsdale Police Chief Brad Bloom. Bloom said Monday night that, though the department is waiting on a coroner's report, it appears based on witness accounts and surveillance video of the incident that the man intentionally stepped in front of the train. "We can say fairly conclusively that it does not appear to be an accident," Bloom said. Bloom said the train that hit the man at approximately 3 p.m. was traveling through the West Hinsdale station when it hit the man.
