The federal government says 29 minutes on average, just four minutes less than the state average according to a new database causing some hospital officials nationwide to cringe. At Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, the average ER wait time is 28 minutes, while at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, patients can expect to wait 74 minutes, which is more than double the state and national average. During this past flu season, my personal doctor sent me to the La Grange ER. After waiting for close to three hours in the waiting room, there was still a two hour wait to be seen by anyone other than the triage nurse.
