The median price of homes sold this March in Western Springs was up 68.1 percent compared to March 2012.
The 10 detached, single-family homes sold in Western Springs during March represented an 11 percent increase from March 2012, when nine homes were sold, according to the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors (MORe). Median home prices jumped much more, though. The median price rose 68.1 percent to $546,250 from $325,000 during March 2012. This is consistent with February 2013, when 11 homes were sold in Western Springs. Year-to-year numbers boom 225 percent in the Park, and an extra home was sold in both Western Springs and La Grange over last October as well.
La Grange Park's real-estate market experienced a dramatic uptick in October 2012 over the same month last year, with an increase of 225 percent in over October 2011. The number of actual homes sold this October was 13, compared to the four sold during the same period last year. This follows a 140 percent increase in La Grange Park in September over September 2012. Western Springs and La Grange each had one more house sold this October than last, with 10 and nine, respectively. All three towns also saw increases in median price of sales over last October.
