OMG PD: DUI Nearly 4X Legal Limit, Ding Dong Dirty Words

LA GRANGE A woman caused a disturbance at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Road, around 1:58 p.m. after her insurance declined to cover a prescription she was picking up for her mother, police said. The woman called police because Walgreens wouldn’t give her the medication unless she paid for it out of pocket. The officer told her this was a matter between her, Walgreens and the insurance company. She became disruptive, called the officer a few names and stormed off, the report said. Three girls who looked like they were in eighth grade took bricks from the yard of a vacant property in the 900 block of South 8th Avenue, police said. 'Jesus St. Steven' Tells Off Cops; Squirrel in Apartment: OMG PD

FOREST PARK Harold S. Sledge, 53, of Chicago, was charged with solicitation after police spoke to him about sleeping on the sidewalk near the CTA stop at 1 S. Harlem Ave. Sledge reportedly told officers "f*** you," and gave them multiple fake names, including "Doreen Jesus," "Sledge Stevens" and "Jesus St. Steven." He was given a June 4 court date. Joseph J. Avila, 23, of Chicago, was cited under a local ordinance for public intoxication after police said he was throwing beer in the street. Police said Avila told them he left a bar with his drink and then threw it in the air because "he did not want to be walking around with beer." OMG PD: $1.5K in Gift Cards Stolen from Church, Drivers Throw Stuff

OAK PARK Someone stole $1,570 in various gift cards from a desk drawer at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in the 500 block of S. East Avenue. The theft occurred sometime between April 16 and April 23.  A man attempted to abduct a 14-year-old girl in Oak Park last week but drove away when she said no, police reported Wednesday. The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. April 26 in the 800 block of Division. Police said the man honked at the Oak Park girl and waved to her, then passed a second time and yelled, "get into my car." He drove southbound on Oak Park Avenue after the girl said no.  Police described the man as white, bald, between 70 and 75 with a wrinkled complexion and a "sloped" nose. He was wearing a tan jacket and drove a tan…

OMG PD: Lewd Gestures at H&R Block, Lots of Stolen Meat

FOREST PARK Lonnie V. Crawford, 38, of Chicago, was charged with public indecency after police were called to H&R Block, 7316 Roosevelt Rd. in Forest Park. A receptionist at the business said Crawford asked to leave the bathroom, then made a masturbatory gesture without exposing himself. The woman demanded he leave three times after calling the police. He was given a June 5 court hearing.   Jamal J. Allen, 35, of Hillside, was issued a local ordinance violation for disorderly conduct after police were told he was selling cigarettes outside of a concession store near the CTA Blue Line at 711 Des Plaines Ave.  Police said they located Allen on a CTA bus, and he denied selling cigarettes. OMG PD: Supersized Charges after McDonald's Attack, Outlaw Bikers Fight

FOREST PARK Two Forest Park men were charged with battery after attacking police who responded to a late-night call from McDonald's on April 13.  Police said they were called about two men, one of whom had a knife, who were involved in an incident on foot in the McDonald's drive-thru lane at 3 a.m.  Officers located the men matching the description provided and said they were both "extremely intoxicated." They were identified as Frank P. Jourige, 62, and Brien M. Jourige, both of Forest Park. As one officer patted down Brien, police said Frank lunged at the officer. Then, as police were cuffing Frank, they said Brian began yelling obscenities at the officer and kicked an officer in his groin.  Police were then contacted by Oak Park …

OMG PD: Dog Shatters Windshield with Head, Frank Lloyd Wright Graffiti

LA GRANGE A dog inside a van broke through the windshield with its head while barking at passers by in the 100 block of West Harris, police said. The dog did not appear to be injured, police said. Shattered glass covered the ground outside the van. Its owner said it had never done anything like this before. OAK PARK Someone wrote derogatory words in white paint on a Volvo in the 100 block of Forest and a bronze statue of Frank Lloyd Wright and rock in Austin Gardens. The damage was estimated at $150 for each offense. Police said it occurred between 7 p.m. March 28 and 3:50 a.m. March 29 FOREST PARK Darin T. OMG PD: Man Kicks Dog, Woman Hides in Car, Man Reads Bible in Bush

OAK PARK A 31-year-old woman was attacked while walking her dog at 12:42 p.m. March 27 in the 300 block of N. Austin. Police said a man approached her yelling, "Get that dog," then kicked the dog. The offender then punched the woman in the face and fled westbound. He's described as 45 years old, 5-foot-8 with a medium build and black hair, and he was wearing a purple coat with whie sleeves and khaki pants. FOREST PARK Police were called to the 7200 block of Franklin at 1:37 p.m. March 27 to check on a man yelling "I love Mary!" in the middle of the street.  Gerard N. Thompson, 51, of Forest Park, was issued a warning to stop disturbing residents. But about 10 minutes later, three more residents in the 300 block of Circle called about …

OMG PD: Teen Bites School Staffer, Mega Jalapeno Pepper Theft

OAK PARK A 16-year-old juvenile was charged with aggravated battery after an incident at the alternative school in the 6500 block of W. North Avenue. Police said the juvenile became unruly and then bit one staff member on the thigh and scratched two other staffers who tried to restrain him. He was taken to a juvenile detention center.  Someone stole a UPS box from a home in the 200 block of S. Maple in Oak Park that contained 22 pounds of jalapenos. The estimated loss was $60. FOREST PARK Police stopped a car for failing to signal, and then saw the driver jump into the rear of the car while a passenger in the rear jumped into the driver's seat. FOREST PARK A Franklin Park man was charged with battery after beating a woman in McDonald's with a "wet floor" sign, Forest Park police said.  Levare Boston, 43, was charged after police were called to McDonald's, 420 Des Plaines Ave on March 12. Police saw a woman with cuts on her cheek and nose, and she said she knew Boston from the PADS shelter.  Police reviewed video surveillance and said Boston was seen with another woman, later identified as his girlfriend. The victim tried to leave the restaurant after spotting Boston, who then got up and began arguing with her. He then was seen grabbing a "wet floor" sign and hitting the victim with it multiple times, police said.  At the station Boston said the woman threw hot coffee at his face…

LA GRANGE A woman reported that a homeless man with a goatee was throwing beer cans and threatening to kill her around 3:31 p.m. near the intersection of Hillgrove and La Grange, police said. The woman declined to press charges and just wanted police to talk to the man. Officers issued the man a warning. Officers were called to the intersection of Ashland and Elm around 12:48 p.m. for a report of a man feeding a resident’s dog popcorn. The man denied offering popcorn to any dogs and was sent on his way. Officers were called to investigate a report of three teens hiding in the bushes around 10:02 p.m. at 7th and 51st near La Grange Bible Church, police said.
