Longtime Armand’s Fan Opening Pizzeria’s La Grange Location

La Grange gets a new pizza and Italian-food stop next week on La Grange Road, replacing the former DeLuca’s Deli and Grill.

Growing up in Elmwood Park, Mike Amato’s family was loyally faithful to Armand’s Pizzeria—so loyal, in fact, that even when the family moved a half hour away to Bloomingdale, they would still trek back to Armand's in Elmwood for birthday parties and other occasions. Now, Mike Amato has an Armand’s of his very own. The pizzeria has been franchised throughout the Chicagoland area since the late 1990s. It is scheduled to open in La Grange next Monday in one of the suites at 26 La Grange Road, the former DeLuca’s Deli and Grill, with Amato as general manager. Residents got a preview of their newest pizza joint during the La Grange Hometown Holiday, during which Armand’s dispensed slices from a whopping 80 pizzas to significant acclaim, they …

Fireside: La Grange's Newest Pizza Joint Opens Today

Fireside, La Grange's new brick oven pizza joint, opens on Harris Avenue today.

If you're looking to put the flame back in your relationship, you might want to try doing it with a wood burning brick oven this Valentine's Day. They do say after all, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Just in time for Valentine's Day, is the opening of Fireside Wood Fired Pizza & Cafe, located at 18 W. Harris Ave. in downtown La Grange. Fireside officially opens for business today, and they're expecting a big turnout. The restaurant is a fast casual concept, which means there's a table if you want to bring the family in for dinner, but there's no server. It also means you wont have to wait long for your food. Fireside can cook up a pizza in two minutes in their 700-degree oven, imported from Italy.  Fireside specializes in…

Mamma Mia! Bella Bacino's Offers Pizza Making Class for Kids

Kids can get their hands on dough, learn to swirl sauce and make their own pizza pies at Bella Bacino's in February for La Grange Restaurant Month.

Things are really heating up in La Grange as local businesses get things cooking for Restaurant Week—a celebration of the village's downtown restaurant scene. But at Bella Bacino's, 36 S. La Grange Rd., celebrating restaurant week means fun events all month long. Starting this week, Bella Bacino's will be hosting pizza-making classes for kids on Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Tuesdays, adults can drop by from 5-10 p.m. for special wine tasting events. "I'm working really hard to promote [Restaurant Week] as much as I can," said Linda Bacin, owner of Bella Bacino's. "We have a lot going on." At Bacino's pizza-making classes, kids young and old will get a kick out of getting their hands on some dough, learning to perfect …

Bites Nearby: Variety Is The Name Of The Game At Dino's Pizzeria and Fast Food

Patrons keep coming back for Philly sandwiches and pizza by the slice.

Driving down La Grange Road, there is a plethora of fast food dining choices. Dino’s Pizzeria & Fast Food at 1014 S. La Grange Road in La Grange has been serving up American favorites for over 25 years. An unassuming little building, Dino’s possesses all the trademarks of a mom and pop joint—tight dining quarters, two hanging TVs to keep you company while you eat and signs pasted all over the walls advertising their specials. The gyros dinner was uneventful. I would recommend asking for the ribbons of meat to be cooked up on the grill for a crispier texture and while you're at it, toast the pita bread too. Their basic cheeseburger was marginal in presentation and taste; however its one stand out feature was that they top the char-burger …
