Police Blotter: Mailboxes Busted on Commonwealth, Whiskey Shoplifted

Western Springs police reports, July 14-24

SATURDAY, JULY 21 An unknown offender damaged three mail boxes on the 5200 block of Commonwealth Drive. The crime was reported to police at 1:27 a.m. The value of the damage was not estimated. Police were called to the 700 block of Hillgrove Avenue at 9:13 a.m. for a "dispute over services" between a business owner and a customer. WEDNESDAY, JULY 18 An unknown person stole one bottle of Bushmill Whiskey from an unspecified business in Garden Market around 2:11 p.m. The value of the stolen item was not estimated. TUESDAY, JULY 17 An unknown person stole Claritin from an unspecified business in Garden Market around 1:09 p.m. The value of the stolen item was not estimated. Police Blotter: $8,000 Credit Fraud, Multiple Underage Alcohol Citations

Western Springs police reports, July 9-16

SUNDAY, JULY 15 Raymond R. Olvera, 25, of 6142 Knollwick Rd., Willowbrook, was stopped at the corner of 55th Street and Gilbert Avenue at 5:03 p.m. and charged with speeding over the posted limit and driving with a revoked license.  SATURDAY, JULY 14 Two Western Springs 19-year-old men and a 15-year-old Western Springs girl were cited at 11:30 p.m. in connection with what police called an underage drinking party on the 5400 block of Fair Elms Avenue after receiving a complaint. The men were each cited for underage consumption of alcohol; the girl was cited for both underage possession and consumption of alcohol.
