Sub sandwich lovers saddened by the closing of Quizno's in Western Springs didn't have to wait too long for a replacement. Subway is opening soon in the old Quiznos location.
No manager was present when I stopped by, but people working on the restaurant's interior said it should open next Wednesday, July 10, in the Garden Market shopping center.
Quiznos was open for about 10 years on the east end of Garden Market, next to Great American Bagel, before closing in the spring 2013.
Subway already has a number of nearby locations, including a spot in the Westbrook Commons off Wolf Road and 31st Street, as well as another at Plainfield and 55th.
