People age 18 and older who wish to act at the Theatre of Western Springs take an acting workshop called Studio. The 14-session class is free and open to the public, regardless of prior acting experience.
Following Studio graduation, those who wish to join the acting company purchase a pro-rated season subscription and are then eligible for casting.
This year, Studio takes place Oct. 19 - Nov. 10, at the theatre, 4384 Hampton Ave., Western Springs. It is taught by Rick Snyder, artistic director and an ensemble member at Steppenwolf Theatre. Studio is fun and educational.

- 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22
- 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23
- 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24
- 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26
- 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29
- 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30
- 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31
- 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2
- 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5
- 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6
- 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7
- 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9
- 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 (Graduation)

Attendance is required at 12 of the 14 sessions. Studio culminates in a presentation of short scenes on the final night followed by a welcome reception.
