An invitation to be on stage at Theatre of Western Springs

People age 18 and older who wish to act at the Theatre of Western Springs take an acting workshop called Studio. The 14-session class is free and open to the public, regardless of prior acting experience.

Following Studio graduation, those who wish to join the acting company purchase a pro-rated season subscription and are then eligible for casting.

This year, Studio takes place Oct. 19 - Nov. 10, at the theatre, 4384 Hampton Ave., Western Springs. It is taught by Rick Snyder, artistic director and an ensemble member at Steppenwolf Theatre. Studio is fun and educational.

 Sessions take place on the following dates:

• 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19
• 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22
• 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23
• 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24
• 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26
• 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct.  29             
• 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30
• 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31
• 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2
• 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5
• 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6       
• 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7
• 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9
• 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10 (Graduation)

Attendance is required at 12 of the 14 sessions. Studio culminates in a presentation of short scenes on the final night followed by a welcome reception.
