Western Springs Obituaries: Alison Fitzpatrick, 44

The obituaries of the following Western Springs residents were recently featured on Legacy.com:

Alison M. Fitzpatrick, 44, died on Nov. 14. She was the daughter of Edward A. and Diane M. Fitzpatrick, also of Western Springs, and was the sister of Elizabeth Waldo and Edward Fitzpatrick. She graduated from Benet Academy and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. A memorial mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, at St. Cletus Church in La Grange. An obituary for Ms. Fitzpatrick was published in the Nov. 17 edition of the Chicago Tribune.

Mel Joseph Villicana, 65, was a Vietnam War army veteran who was husband to Janice, father to Michael Villicana, Maria Spohn and Matthew Villicana, and grandfather to Samuel Spohn. Mr. Villicana was the son of Anthony Villicana and the late Soyla Villicana. Mr. Villicana was the commander of Western Springs VFW Post #10778 and also was a member of the Robert E. Coulter American Legion Post #1941, La Grange. He worked at the Western Springs pool during summers. A visitation took place Nov. 15 at Hallowell & James Funeral Home in Countryside, and a funeral service was held Nov. 16. An obituary for Mr. Villicana was published in the Nov. 14 edition of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Richard Wayne Anderson, 81, is a former Western Springs resident who passed away at Bickford Assisted Living in Crystal Lake. Born in Joliet to Axel and Lillian Anderson, he married the late Joyce Diane Carpenter in 1952. The two were longtime Western Springs residents and were members of the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs. An OB/GYN, Mr. Anderson was a lover of music, theater and travel. He is father to Kevin Anderson, Vicki Meiners, Brian Anderson, and the late Neil Anderson, and is grandfather to nine grandchildren. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs. Donations to the Gift of Hope-Organ and Tissue Donor Network are encouraged. An obituary for Mr. Anderson was published in the Nov. 20 edition of the Chicago Tribune.
