Woman, 89, Dies 17 Days After Husband: Western Springs Obituaries

The following obituaries were recently featured on Legacy.com:

Helen S. Fitch
, 89, formerly of Chicago and Western Springs, died Dec. 5 in Kalamazoo, MI. Ms. Fitch was the wife of Morgan L. Fitch Jr., who died in Kalamazoo Nov. 18. She was the mother of Ruth White, Mary White, Morgan Fitch IV and Frederick Fitch. Ms. Fitch had eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was active at the Western Springs United Church of Christ and was a volunteer at the Brookfield Zoo. Ms. Fitch has been cremated, as per her wishes, and there will be no visitation. A private service will be held. An obituary for Ms. Fitch was published in the Chicago Tribune on Dec. 8.

Margaret Waters Bowhay
, 81, a one-time resident of Western Springs who lived in La Grange Park, died Dec. 4. Wife of the late James H. Bowhay, Ms. Bowhay was the mother of James Bowhay and Anne Bowhay, and the grandmother of Sam and Ruth Bowhay, and Emily, Peter and Jane Hanneman. A memorial service will take place 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at First Congregational Church of Western Springs, where she was an active member. She lived in Western Springs from 1994 to 2000. Donations to First Congregational Church or the College Scholarship Fund at the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless are encouraged. An obituary for Ms. Bowhay was published in the Chicago Tribune on Dec. 8.
