Attempted Burglary Reported on Caroline Avenue

Diaper Bag Stolen from Car

An unknown burglar broke into a car parked in the Spring Rock parking lot on Central Avenue between 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. and stole a diaper bag that, including its contents, was valued at $50, police said.

Forced entry to the car was made through a driver's side rear window, police said.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 12

Home Burglary Attempted

An unknown person attempted to break into a home in the 5200 block of Caroline Avenue via a rear patio door between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., police said. 

There was approximately $300 in damage to the door, which police said the offender tried to pry open. No entry was made. 

WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 11

Underage Drinking

Arika Albaugh, 19, of the 4600 block of Downers Dr., Downers Grove, was cited for underage consumption of alcohol, speeding and driving without insurance, police said, after a traffic stop near 55th and I-294 at 12:45 p.m. 

Officers detected a faint odor of alcohol on her breath during the stop, leading to the underage consumption citation. She was released on her own recognizance.
