3-Car Accident Results in Minor Injury


A 24-year-old La Grange woman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving with an expired registration sticker, police said, after her 2004 Mazda 3, traveling southbound in the 4900 block of Gilbert Avenue, rear-ended a 2009 Toyota Corolla, which then rear-ended a 2003 Ford Taurus at 6:28 p.m., causing minor injury to the Corolla driver.

The two vehicles that were hit had been stopped in traffic at the time of the accident. All three vehicles involved were damaged.

TUESDAY, OCT. 8

Honda-on-Honda Crime


Police said a 27-year-old Brookfield woman was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after she rear-ended with her 2011 Honda Civic a 2011 Honda Pilot that was at a complete stop on eastbound Ogden Avenue at the Ogden-and-Gilbert traffic light at 4:03 p.m.

No injuries were reported, but both Hondas were damaged.

A 57-year-old Willow Springs woman was cited for improper backing and driving without insurance, police said, after she backed her 2000 Lexus RX300 into the passenger-side door of a 2009 Subaru Impreza while trying to back into a parking space in Lyons Township High School parking at 3:14 p.m.

The Subaru had been parked and was unoccupied. No injuries were reported, but both vehicles were damaged.
